These ephemerides, intended for use by navigators, are published by the LTE’s Space Service (SE-OP) under the auspices of the Bureau des longitudes. This publication has been issued annually since 1889.
These ephemerides provides declinations and right ascensions for Vénus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturne (hour by hour to the nearest tenth of one minute), and sunrise, sunset, moonrise and moonset times at latitude between 70°N and 56°S.
Traditionally used by sailors to determine their position at sea, they are required for commercial vessels and strongly recommended for recreational boats.
