The LTE publications and distribution department produces, publishes and distributes books, documents and scientific resources for a variety of audiences, some of which fall within the scope of the public service missions delegated to the Observatory by the French government.
It also offers the public an Astronomical Calculations and Information Service.

National ephemerides
The production of national ephemerides is one of LTE’s public service missions. Some of these ephemerides are published annually. These are :

All scientific publications by researchers from the former SYRTE and IMCCE laboratories and the current LTE are available in the HAL-LTE collection.
Books for the scientific community
The department publishes and distributes manuals and reference works such as the Introduction aux éphémérides et phénomènes astronomiques, scientific and technical notes, and theses.
Other books and resources
The department promotes research themes by publishing books and documents for various audiences (visit) and online resources.
Disseminating research
The department optimizes disseminating research results for teams and resources via all available channels : institutional networks, media, publishers.
Astronomical Calculations and Information Service : SCAR (Service de Calculs Astronomiques et de Renseignements)
This service is available to the general public and responds in particular to the following requests :
- Ephemerides of the bodies of the Solar System
- Sunrise and sunset, moonrise and moonset, and the stars of the Solar System
- Phases of the Moon
- Passages at the nodes, quadratures, apogees and perigees
- Heliocentric alignments, conjunctions
- Seasons, solstices and equinoxes
- Lunar and solar eclipses
- Calculation of the equation of time
- Illumination
- Planetary transits
- Calendars and conversion between calendars
- Calculation of the date of Ramadan, the date of Easter, etc.
