Gyrachip : Gyroscope on an Atom Chip

The goal of this project is to develop a new generation of high sensitivity cold atom gyroscopes able to fulfill the stringent requirements of metrology applications. These sensors will use guided matter waves, produced and manipulated on atom chip devices, and they will be designed in order to overcome the main limitations of atom interferometers using free falling atoms: the relatively short interrogation times and the quantum projection noise (QPN).
